Scared of Dogs
My dear friend, Alex Bennis, published his first book the other week. He has been nervous of dogs since childhood. But, remarkably, he decided to become a volunteer dog walker at Wimbledon Greyhound Welfare, a rehoming kennels which takes in greyhound who have retired from racing and finds them homes and a new life after the track. Scared of Dogs is the story of the remarkable journey he has made, how he overcame his fears and came to love the greyhounds.
I was honoured to be asked to take the photographs for the book and it was such a pleasure to photograph Alex as he worked in the kennels (painting the walls, making up the food), walked the dogs or just enjoyed some quality time with his favourites among the hounds.
